The origins of The Now Age Press actually stretch back to the early 1990s when I began publishing a small, New York City area publication bridging natural living, current affairs and culture called The Real News. This was at a time when such unions of conversation were an anomaly. In those days, debates about genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) and globalism were atop the agenda for the anti-establishment left side of the political spectrum.
Move forward to the end of that decade, and the advent of the internet, The Real News had morphed into an online representation, renamed The Now Age Press, with a weekly column called the Now Age Minute. While topics I covered focused on America’s perverse relationship with food, and overall wellness, once the Supreme Court hijacked the 2000 election in favor of George W. Bush, politics and current affairs took center stage. The subsequent sixteen years of Bush and Obama have only sharpened that focus, while keeping an eye on matters involving health and the environment.
While continuing publishing the Now Age Minute weekly, I’ve added a video interview feature, Now Age TV, where I speak with relevant voices that fly under the mainstream media radar. I’ve also recently added a new, weekly column of satire, #TermLimits4Celebs, in which I skewer celebrity culture, and propose term limiting personalities from Alec Baldwin to Meryl Streep and the MSNBC Morning Joe team.
With our commitment to persevere as the original Real News, we need financial support to ramp up our technology, including new computers and video equipment. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by the end of the summer. If you appreciate our Unconventionally Unconventional brand of independent media, consider a financial contribution.
